MAPFest Receives Prestigious Awards in Regional Marketing Events Awards 2016

Singapore, 17 October 2016 – Art and Performance Festival Melaka Sdn Bhd and it’s event management agency, E-Plus Entertainment Productions (M) Sdn Bhd, received high recognition for their contribution towards the Malaysian art industry as it yielded a double bronze at the recent Marketing Events Awards 2016 in Singapore. The seventh instalment of Melaka Art and Performance Festival (MAPFest) won in the categories of ‘Best Event – Arts and Culture’ and ‘Best Event – Ambience’.


The Marketing Events Awards 2016, organised by Marketing magazine, is an award night to celebrate the ultimate in events and events marketing for leading event marketers, planners and agencies from across Southeast Asia, South Asia and ANZ. The prestigious night presented 86 trophies with an attendance of over 300 professionals across the industry. Despite faced with tough contenders, MAPFest shone above the rest with the double bronze win and were also finalists in the ‘Best Event – Home-Grown’ and ‘Best Event – Use of Venue’ categories.


“From a humble beginning in 2009, the festival took steps to improve, leading to its growth and establishment as one of the well-recognised global art festival. This challenge took great courage, and the moment our efforts are acknowledged, amidst support by fellow professionals and the global art community, we know that we are on the right path. MAPFest, the largest and only site-specific art and performance art festival held in a UNESCO World Heritage site, musters global artists to the heritage city of Melaka. Held in November annually, MAPFest is one of the leading home-grown festivals that has been awarded by multiple local and global bodies for their contribution in elevating the art industry, and transforming Melaka into an international hub for artists and enthusiasts to practice their respective discipline.


“The festival that covers the prominent St. Paul’s Hill and its surroundings, is one of the largest art festival held in Malaysia. This growth was made possible through support by the local government and community. MAPFest 2016, the eighth instalment of the festival, will return to Melaka from Friday to Sunday, 25 to 27 November 2016, from 10AM to 10PM daily.

Established in 2011, the prestigious Marketing Events Awards is an awarding body in recognition of the best events produced over the year. Produced by Marketing magazine, a publication of Lighthouse Independent Media, over 300 marketing and events professional attended the fifth annual award at Capella Singapore. More than 70 organisation across the Asia region took part in the contest for the top three spots across 31 categories, and a total of 86 trophies were presented to the leading event marketers, planners and agencies from across Southeast Asia, South Asia and ANZ.
